Prior to the operation the patient will
undergo a full assessment which involves a series of blood
tests (CBC, U/E’s,Creatinine,INR, APTT, LFT’s,RBG,
cross match for 2 units of blood), ECG (heart trace) Chest
Xray and a Joint Xray if a recent one is not available. There
will also be a pre operative assessment done by the anaesthetist
who will be administering the anaesthetic. This will allow
the anaesthetist to decide the mode of anaesthesia and any
other management required.
